Dear Lord...
So far today, I am doing all right.
I have not gossiped, lost my temper,
been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or self indulgent.
I have not whined, bitched, cursed, or eaten any chocolate.
I have not charged on my credit card.
However, I am going to get out of bed in a few minutes,
and I will need a lot more help after that.

  • Spray a bit of perfume on the lightbulb in any room to create a lovely, light scent when the light is turned on.
  • For icy door steps in freezing temperatures: get warm water and put Dawn dishwashing liquid in it. Pour it all over the steps. They won't refreeze.
  • Whenever you travel, carry along a stain pretreatment stick. Using the stick on the stains before they set ensures that they will wash out  when you get home.
  • When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.
  • When you get a splinter, reach for Sctoch tape before resorting to tweezers or a needle. Put the tape over the splinter, then pull it off. The tape removes most splinters easily and painlessly.
  • Ant hills outdoors can be destroyed by pouring a pan of boiling water down the opening
  • Need to clean your combs? Put them in the dishwasher and they will come out super clean.
  • Feeding the fish...Put the fish food in a spice jar that has a shaker lid. This will keep the fish food from getting everywhere and it's great for kids to use.
  • Permanent markers on appliances and counter tops can be erased by using rubbing alcohol on a paper towel.
  • To make stainlesss steel sinks really shine, clean with white vinegar.
  • Nail polish remover will remove the melted plastic from your toaster.
  • Tomatoes last longer if you store them with the stems pointed down.
  • Clean your range hood metal filter in the dishwasher. They come out like new.
  • When boiling corn on the cob, addd a pinch of sugar to help bring out the corn's natural sweetness.
  • The easiest way to remove chewing gum from the hair is to rub it with peanut butter, then wash.
  • Never throw away the water that eggs have been boiled in. It makes a great food for your plants. After cooling, water your houseplants with it.
  • Rub caryon marks with an art gum eraser and they will easily come off.
  • Spray your Tupperware with a non-stick cooking spray before pouring in tomatoe will prevent any stains.
  • Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of an ice cream cone to prevent ice cream drips.
  • For musty smelling books, sprinkle talcum powder between the pages and wrap in brown paper. Store the books for a long period of time and then remove it from the brown paper and brush out all the powder. No more musty odor.
  • Keep fleas and mange off your pets by adding a little vinegar to your pet's drinking water.
  • Frost free car windows ~ add 3 parts vinegar to 1 part water. Coat car windows the night before for frost-free windows the next morning.
